Standards are high Ofsted 2008 Most students progress into our sixth- form and, each year, our sixth- form students leave Harlington well equipped to make a success of degree courses at university or employment. I believe parents are able to send their children to Harlington Upper School confident they will be well cared for and receive a broad education that meets the demands of today's world and the challenges that lie ahead. Please contact me if you would like to visit during the school day and talk with students and staff. You will be made very welcome. Yours sincerely Shawn Fell Headteacher www. harlington. org | 3

Curriculum The wide ranging curriculum on offer at Harlington allows all young people to reach their full potential. A full range of subjects are on offer and we ensure that each individual student receives a well- balanced education, but with the opportunity to follow specific areas of interest. The school is large enough to provide a comprehensive range of facilities and specialist teaching, but not too large to care for and support the individual. We provide an inclusive education that is open to all, with the emphasis on achievement. At Harlington there are many activities to enjoy during the school day and out of school hours. Drama, music and art are very important to the life of the school. Musical performances and exhibitions have received considerable acclaim and the annual School Production is a wonderful showcase for the performance talents of our students. Sports and athletics activities flourish and Harlington students have achieved individual and team success at county and national level. As a Specialist Science College our provision in the sciences, mathematics and ICT is second to none. Many other opportunities exist for our students, such as participation in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, outdoor pursuits and many trips and visits, both at home and abroad. The school is large enough to provide a complete range of facilities and specialist teaching, but not too large to care for and support the individual. Achievement 4 | Harlington Upper School
